            • Audio* description: The identification of the rolls was done according to the inventory numbers (Inv.nr. 215 - 248). This collection is a continuation of the Smend I collection, which was numbered separately. The name of the collection does not differ from Smend I. The inscription of the rollers is different: Roman numerals (as opposed to Smend I), SM [W AFR] Roman numerals, Smend Eve Arabic numerals. Ingrid Bertleff wrote a detailed commentary on the roll stock in 1998. The rolls 4 and 15 were included in the Dem. coll. as no. 76 and 77. Detailed remarks and texts are available. Extensive correspondence with the PhA and MV available. Transcriptions are scattered throughout many publications.

This collection is a separately numbered part of an extensive collection. The original name of the collection was: Smend West-Afrika (Togo). The marking of the rollers is very different: no marking, Roman numerals, Arabic numerals, SM Arabic numerals, Smend Togo Arabic numerals. Ingrid Bertleff wrote a detailed commentary on the roll stock in 1998. The rolls 14, 32, 30 were included in the Dem. coll. as No. 75, 78 and 79. Detailed remarks and texts are available. Extensive correspondence with the PhA and MV available. Transcriptions are scattered throughout many publications. W. rom. 5 is published on the CD 100 years (1/22).

            • Audio* description: The collection consists of 7 rolls. The recordings were made by Marius Schneider in Berlin-Schlachtensee for the Berlin phonogram archive. Accordingly, the recorded singer Bonifatius Foli, an Ewe man living in Berlin, was a former cook of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg in Togo. Original texts with German translations are available. The translations were done by Diedrich Westermann. Some transcriptions in Schneider 1943/44.

A total of 34 rolls have been recorded on 23 rolls, a handwritten record is available, then some rolls were recorded by Prof. Carl Meinhof. Detailed annotations and texts with translations are available. According to Marius Schneider, Diedrich Westermann was involved in the translations (cf. Marius Schneider 1943/44:1). Some transcriptions in Schneider 1943/44. Schneider's statements (1943/44) on this collection are obviously incorrect.
