The present estate of Friedrich Theodor Althoff (1839-1908), Prussian Ministerial Director in the Ministry of Culture, was given to the Prussian Secret State Archives in 1921 as a gift from the widow Marie Althoff. In 1924, 1935, 1936, 1951, 1958 and 2000 further smaller parts of the estate were transferred to the (Prussian) Secret State Archives (PK). The estate contains primarily personnel documents, comprehensive reference files from official activities, extensive official correspondence with a large number of partners, newspapers and newspaper clippings and a small partial estate of the widow Marie Althoff, mainly with her correspondence after 1908 The correspondence was filed by Althoff himself according to two types, alphabetically according to the names and professions of the senders, so that both groups (by database query) are to be searched. An additional peculiarity is that about 500 letters are enclosed with other correspondences, namely when the letter writers mainly expressed themselves about other, third parties. In these cases, the letters were not filed under the senders, but under the names of those about whom they were written. Modern distortion maintains this order, but ejects the names concerned in the respective distortion titles. (Example VI HA, Nl F. T. Althoff, No. 805 alphabetical correspondence "Kohl - Koppy" also contains in "Kollmann, Julius, Basel, 1887 - 1888 (3)" a letter by Gustav v. Schmoller about Julius Kollmann from 1884). In the course of entering the database, the individual correspondence partners in the correspondence volumes were added to the contents notes using the register. The number in brackets indicates the number of letters. For the former divisions A I and A II (today No. 1-655) there is a separate detailed analysis volume which should be consulted during research. Its contents are not part of the database, as they would have gone beyond its scope. For the complete technical processing of the magazine, which took place in 2012, the discount was re-signed according to serial numbers for the sake of simplicity. A corresponding concordance can be found at the end of the search. Distortion began in 1921 by Ludwig Dehio. Mrs. Krähe created the list of letter correspondents. In 1939 G. Wentz dispersed the correspondence. In the years 1960-1962 Renate Endler recorded the estate again, including a revision. From 1975-1976 a further revision was carried out by Holger Schenk. The autograph collection of the UB contains altogether approx. 900 individual documents of predominantly well-known personalities. They originate mainly from the 19th and 20th centuries, some also from the 16th to 18th centuries. Most of the newer autographs consist of German scholarly letters from the 19th century (also Latin, French, English). The autographs were partly taken from files and estates and partly contain facsimile prints and references to other holdings.

The SuUB Bremen currently has more than 4,000 autographs (in the list of autographs) and more than 70 estates. These refer to persons who are associated with the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, but in some cases also have supra-regional significance. The focus is on the 18th to early 20th centuries. The holdings range from individual autographs to closed bequests of correspondence and manuscripts. The autographs are listed completely here in the Kalliope database.

Over 850 letters from important personalities in politics, art and literature, including Georg Forster, Napoléon I. Bonaparte, Thomas Mann, Anna Seghers, Richard Wagner and Carl Zuckmayer The reorganization of the letter collection by Janet Nett was completed in September 1978. In contrast to the old order, in which there were often up to 80 letters in an envelope under one number, the new order included each letter individually, assigned a number and placed it in an envelope. Letters that clearly came from the archive's estates were returned to them (Vogt, Kindlinger, Rheinisch Naturforschende Gesellschaft). This reduced the original number of letters by about half, from about 1400 to 700 September 1978, net.

The collection of autographs has grown out of the collection of about 2000 letters of the Cologne banker's daughter and wife Sibylle Mertens-Schaaffhausen (1797-1857), who was associated with Bonn and who for decades moved in the Biedermeier Rhenish and Roman literary and art-loving world. 1849 bequeathed to the Bonn University Library by will, the collection has belonged to the collection since 1859. The original collection also contained foreign correspondence, e.g. letters from the estate of Sibylle's Weimar friend Adele Schopenhauer, whose adopted home was the Rhineland and who died in Bonn in 1849; the collection's holdings were almost doubled in 1895/96 due to the estate of the Bonn bookseller Gustav Marcus (1897 figures: 3928 copies of 2509 persons, 310 portraits).;The foundation of the Geh. Kommerzienrat Emil vom Rath, established in 1910, expressly served the care of Rhenish literature. Not only could manuscripts be acquired from their funds in 1911, but the former Mertens-Schaaffhausen autograph collection could also be expanded into a Rhenish autograph and portrait collection. The collection also grew considerably (by at least 841 pieces) in the years 1919 - 1922, when 184 "well-known personalities of the Rhine Province" responded to a request from the library and donated portrait photographs and autographs (often with self-biographical content) to the collection. Larger autograph complexes held together by writers or addressees, which were acquired in no small number in the following period, were generally not classified in the autograph collection, but as collections, partial bequests or splinter bequests in the group of S-signatures containing manuscripts of all kinds. In 1935 7057 autographs were counted, in the year 2007 the collection contained 7953 autographs; in addition further single autographs, which were not separated from the book because of the direct connection, are found as supplements in books. Best. 1825 contains files from the estate of Peter Faecke (born 1940) - writer, editor, composer, journalist, reporter, screenwriter, editor and publisher - which form the basis of his work as an author, especially manuscripts and material collections. The estate covers a term from 1961 to 2010.I. Takeover and useThe Peter Faecke of Cologne, who was elected, handed over his estate together with the list of papers to the Historical Archive of the City of Cologne on 29 November 2009. This was acquired under inventory number 2009/52. On 30.06.2010 he added further documents, which were registered under the access number 2010/20. Further taxes remain to be seen. In the tectonics of the archives, the estate is classified under the inventory number 1825 in the department of bequests and collections. six moving boxes filled with standing files, which contained perforated and stapled documents, were taken over. The files showed only minimal damage such as slight wrinkles, compression and dusting. After order and distortion at the end of 2011, the material worthy of archiving was removed from the standing files, cleaned, demetallized, re-bedded for archiving purposes and provided with the assigned signatures. Since January 2012, the original version of the Writers' Legacy has been available in the analogue reading room of the Historical Archive of the City of Cologne and is not subject to any restrictions on use. Accordingly, with a few exceptions, the existing order of files was retained and only repealed where it was possible to create independent contexts or where it could be clearly seen that there had been an erroneous sorting on the part of the predecessor. Following the Bärschen principle, each standing folder and each extracted unit was then assigned a temporary number. After a thorough examination, a comprehensive description of the contents of each file unit was then made. As a result of this and in accordance with the rules for the indexing of estates and autographs, a basic thematic division of the holdings into general documents and documents relating to the work was carried out. In addition, a more specific subdivision of the manuscripts and material collections was made, oriented to the genre, and the units were pre-sorted accordingly. Afterwards an order was operated according to chronological principle and the order after final, sequential numbers was added. Subsequently the data base distortion took place in the archive software ActaPro. The two overarching classification points General, Correspondence and Criticism as well as Works and Collections of Materials were compiled, and the latter was subdivided into novels, radio contributions, screenplays and non-fiction texts. The units were then recorded and assigned to the respective classification points in the same way as the presorting, with the title field usually corresponding to the specific publication title and the exact content being made accessible by means of content and thesaurus notes. The formulation deliberately did not distinguish between manuscripts and typoscripts in the literal sense of the word, but referred to any draft text or concept, whether handwritten or typewritten, as manuscripts. Finally, cross-continuance indexes of objects, locations and persons were carried out and the inventory information was displayed on the meta level. BiographyPeter Faecke was born on 3 October 1940 in Grundwald in Silesia. In the course of his expulsion from his homeland, the family moved to Hannoversch Münden in Lower Saxony in 1946. From 1961 to 1965 he studied Romance Languages, German and Philosophy in Göttingen, Berlin, Hamburg and Paris. In 1965 Faecke became the youngest editor to date of Westdeutscher Rundfunk in Cologne and remained loyal to WDR until 1990 as an editor in the Department of Culture and Science. His main role was that of rapporteur on Third World culture. He was significantly involved in the development and expansion of the literary program in radio at all. From 1982 to 1985, he also managed a media development project for German Development Aid in Peru, which was intended to serve the expansion of the state broadcasting system there, but had to be discontinued prematurely due to a worsening civil war. Peter Faecke also worked as a novelist during his studies and continues to do so successfully today. Since 1969 he has been a member of the Writers' Association P.E.N. Centre Germany and the Association of German Writers (VS). In 1971 he was even appointed guest lecturer for German literature at the University of Texas/USA in Austin. 1991 to 2003 he worked as a freelance journalist and writer at the WDR, travelled to Latin America and Africa for longer periods of time for research purposes and took action as a reporter from crisis areas.a. 1965 the Lower Saxony Prize for the Promotion of Literature for Young Artists, 1966 the NRW Prize, 1967 the City of Cologne Prize, 1978 a Villa Massimo Scholarship in Rome and 1991 as well as 1994 scholarships from the German Literature Fund e. Biography: Friedrich August Haselwander (1859-1932) studied mathematics, physics, chemistry, botany, mineralogy, economics and electronics at the Technical University of Karlsruhe, the Universities of Strasbourg and Munich. In self-study he additionally acquired knowledge in the engineering sciences. In 1886, in Offenburg, where he was born, he constructed a DC dynamo machine from which he developed the three-phase generator, a world first. In 1891 he founded the Badische Elektrizitätswerke in Lahr, where he worked until their liquidation in 1893. In cooperation with Adolf Kolbe, he applied for his patents at home and abroad and knew how to draw financial benefit from them. After disputes over the copyright of his three-phase generator patent, Haselwander increasingly devoted himself to the development of motors. In 1897 he applied for a patent for the first compressorless crude oil engine. After working as a partner and technical director of the patent exploitation syndicate Haselwander, Wenk-Wolff and Genossen in Mannheim, as co-founder and partner of Maschinenfabrik Haselwander, among others.

Das Stadtarchiv verwaltet das Archivgut der Stadtverwaltung Göttingen und der eingemeindeten Ortschaften. Zu den Archivbeständen gehören ca. 4.500 lfdm Urkunden, Briefe, Amtsbücher und Akten vom 13. Koblenz, April 2005 Gregor Pickro Zur Geschichte und Ordnung des Bestandes (Preliminary remark in the Publication Findbuch 1985) At Harden's death, his written estate had a considerable extent; when even today nothing more detailed is known about it, it was probably much larger than the preserved papers show. In addition, Harden's heirs endeavoured to increase the estate through original letters collected from friends and acquaintances or copies of which were made and added to the actual estate. After 1933 the estate was fled to Palestine. Larger parts may have been left behind, and losses may also have occurred in Palestine, as a suitable storage room was not available and right supervision was lacking. After the end of the 2nd World War the papers were returned to Germany. Mrs. Maximiliane Horowitz in Berlin, Harden's daughter, sold the remaining estate to the Federal Archives in January 1953 through the mediation of Mrs. Pflug in Wuppertal; Mrs. Horowitz was given about 30 autographs and Mrs. Pflug 1 autograph each by all known personalities after copying for the Federal Archives. Photocopies or copies of larger parts of the letters she had handed over to the autograph trade before selling them to the Federal Archives were available and were also handed over to the Federal Archives. In addition, the Federal Archives have endeavoured to purchase autographs from Harden's estate that were offered for sale. It was possible to acquire at least the letter volumes and individual letters which the American Mr. Young had bought at auction. With a few exceptions (poet-autographers), the Federal Archives today seem to have almost all of Harden's papers at its disposal, either in the original or in the form of a photocopy or transcript, which returned to Germany from Palestine after 1945. The previous losses must be regarded as definitive. The collection of Harden letters, which had been started by Harden's heirs, was continued by the Federal Archives. Letters from Harden to Landsberger and Paulsen and photocopies of letters from Harden to Tucholsky could be purchased. As it emerged from the acquisition of the estate by the Federal Archives, it originally consisted of a series of correspondence and factual files (primarily probably trial files). Unfortunately, parts of the fact files were still dissolved after 1945 and divided into correspondence series. When the estate reached the Federal Archives, only the letters of a few particularly important and important correspondents had already been collected; for larger parts of the rest of the documents there were several alphabetically preceding series, the rest was unordered. After sorting out the collection of Harden letters and transcripts as well as the few remaining material files and remains of material files, all letters addressed to Harden were filed in a large alphabetical correspondence series. Finally, the appendix contains original letters from Harden and copies of letters which, according to their provenance, do not belong to the actual estate. They were in the Secret State Archive of Prussian Cultural Heritage in Berlin, enriched with a typewritten transmission of Harden's hard-to-read cards and letters through them, newspaper clippings and correspondence about Harden, and individual letters to and from Harden acquired in the autograph trade. In 1969 this collection was transferred to the Federal Archives. The letters to and from Harden were placed in the alphabetical correspondence series of the Harden estate. They are identifiable from the supplementary foliation (e.g. 5 a-c) and are not contained in the previously produced publication films. The actual Nachass Schmaltz, whose core piece are the letters of Harden, was attached as Appendix II to the Harden estate and filmed. Photographs have been handed over to the picture archive of the Federal Archives and are included in the biographical series.
