In addition to the offices previously responsible for administration and the judiciary, local courts were created, which now took over all the jurisdictional tasks on their own. The offices thus lost their significance and were dissolved. The district court Blankenburg was founded in 1850. It was a court of first instance for the area of the former ducal office Blankenburg, which belonged to the district Blankenburg of the dukedom Braunschweig.
