Department I: She was responsible for the operational and scientific management of the climate service. History of the Inventory Designer: History After the foundation of the Reich in 1871, the creation of a common railway administration for all German states was not initially on the agenda. The southern German states feared the overweight of Prussia and finally rejected Bismarck's rich railroad law of 1875. Only the railway lines in Alsace and Lorraine, which were separated from France, were subject to the Imperial Chancellor since 1871. For the railway system in Germany the network of the Alsace-Lorraine Railways (besides 7 state administrations at that time) existed as the only state administration until the transfer of the state railway administrations of the Länder into the possession of the Reich. This railway network consisted of the parts of the French Ostbahn assigned to the German Reich on the basis of the Frankfurt Peace Treaty of 10 May 1871 and the lines of the Wilhelm-Luxemburg-Eisenbahnen taken over on a lease basis by the State Treaty of 11 June 1872 with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Inventory description: Inventory history Due to the effects of war and the collapse of the German Reich, the records of the Reich Statistical Office suffered heavy losses. At the Berlin headquarters in the Neue Königstraße, parts of the statistical material were destroyed during bomb attacks in May 1945. During the demolition of the building in 1945, the central registry was completely destroyed and approximately 10 of the 200,000 volumes of the library were lost. In the years 1943/44 several departments or departments with their written material had been moved to alternative locations. The documents on the excise tax statistics, which came to the Federal Archives in 1952 with written documents from other American departments, were indexed in a finding aid book. The material returned from Alexandria in 1958 was provisionally developed in 1959. After a return of the files from the Berlin Document Center in 1962 and further splinter deliveries, a provisional completion of the indexing could be achieved in 1968. All the documents of the Statistical Office of the Reich that had entered the Federal Archives were indexed by a index of finds, whereby parts of the material recorded in the index of consumption statistics were re-signed. The publications of the Statistisches Reichsamt available in the Budnesarchiv at that time were recorded in a second index. History of the Inventor: By order of 7 Sept. 1929, the Federal Foreign Office and the Reich Economic Ministry merged the Central Office for the Foreign Economic Intelligence Service, the Customs Office in the Reich Economic Ministry and the German Economic Service GmbH for the tasks assigned to them in the field of foreign trade promotion with immediate effect under the common name of the Central Office for Foreign Trade (ZFA). The ZFA is structured as follows: - Intelligence service - Trade information service - Customs service. The legal basis was enshrined in the Law on Measures to Promote Foreign Trade of 18 Oct 1933. The previous ZFA had proved its worth in practice and was now legally recognised as the Reichsstelle für den Außenhandel (RFA), which was a joint department of the Foreign Office and the Reich Economic Ministry. It was empowered to issue instructions to the regional (most recently 22) foreign trade offices under its supervision. In the course of the reorganisation of the commercial economy, the previous branch offices were closed or integrated into the Gauwirtschaftskammern. Their activities have now been carried out by departments established at the Gauwirtschaftskammern for the promotion of economic relations with foreign countries (foreign trade departments). The RFA existed until its collapse in 1945. Inventory description: Inventory history The documents arrived in September 1955 as part of a Custodian's levy for the Reich offices, economic groups and other state economic offices in the American, British and French sectors of Berlin without a delivery list and in disorder in the Federal Archives.
