Smith Full report on runaway slaves. 3 societies involved - (1) Church Mission Society, (2) United Methodist Free Church Society of Sheffield, (3) The German Evangelical Lutheran Mission in East Africa of Hersbruk Bavarici. All slaves questioned for details of ownership. Admires missionaries but finds they were misguided in their actions. Should be control over where missions set up. Acting illegally over slaves - bloodshed must be avoided. G.S. Mackenzie suggests young slaves be educated
