The autograph collection of the UB contains altogether approx. 900 individual documents of predominantly well-known personalities. They originate mainly from the 19th and 20th centuries, some also from the 16th to 18th centuries. Most of the newer autographs consist of German scholarly letters from the 19th century (also Latin, French, English). The autographs were partly taken from files and estates and partly contain facsimile prints and references to other holdings.
