Karte als Teil einer Reisebeschreibung - Reise auf der neu gebauten Eisenbahnstrecke von Tanga an der Ostküste der Kolonie Deutsch- Ostafrika ins Landesinnere bis zum Kilimanjaro. Der Bau dieser Strecke, der sog. "Usambarabahn" (entlang des Usambara-Gebirges), begann 1893 und sollte der kolonialen Erschließung des Gebietes am Kilimanjaro und Merugebirges dienen. Die Reisebeschreibung entspricht einem klassischen Reisebericht per Bahn, ergänzt durch einen Text zur Jagd in Deutsch-Ostafrika und zahlreiche sw-Fotos der Landschaft. Enthält mehrere Werbeanzeigen deutscher Maschinenbau- und anderweitiger Firmen (z.B.Knorr-Bremsen). Titel: Von der Küste zum Kilimanjaro mit der Usambarabahn.
