          The photo from 1913 in the German colony of Togo shows the recruit recruitment for the local police force working under German command in the capital Lome. The German police officers in white suits, separated from the natives by an elevated pedestal, negotiate with the tribe's skinned man marked by buffalo horn jewellery.
