The chamber was erected on 13.4.1863 for the area of the former district of Dortmund. The original district did not change its external borders until 1913. The district of Dortmund was divided into the city district of Dortmund (enlarged by incorporation) and the districts of Hörde and Dortmund. In 1913 the chamber district was extended to the district of Hamm (from 1930 the district of Unna). In 1917 the independent town of Hamm was added. With the territorial reform of the years 1926-1929 the offices Sodingen (today town Herne) and Annen (town Witten) left the chamber district. From 1.1.1930, the chamber district comprised the city districts of Dortmund, Castrop-Rauxel, Lünen and Hamm, the district of Unna as well as the city of Schwerte and the Westhofen office from the district of Iserlohn. This district was valid until 31.12.1974 with one exception: in 1944/45 Schwerte was briefly assigned to the district of the Iserlohn office at the Chamber of Hagen. Since the municipal reorganization in 1975, the chamber district comprises the city districts of Dortmund and Hamm as well as the district of Unna. Castrop-Rauxel retired, the municipalities Werne, Selm and the new districts of the cities Hamm and Schwerte were added. In 1935 the IHK Dortmund became the seat of the Chamber of Commerce for Westphalia and Lippe in the course of the development of the commercial economy. Although the Chamber of Commerce was theoretically assigned numerous tasks as a subdivision of the Reich Chamber of Commerce, the independence of the individual Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the Chambers of Crafts was de facto preserved. In 1937 the Chamber of Commerce for Westphalia and Lippe was subdivided into the departments IHKn, Chambers of Crafts, Industrial Department, Trade Department, District Compensation Office for Public Contracts, Honorary Courts of Commerce and Industry. Dortmund became the seat of the Gauwirtschaftskammer Westfalen-Süd [Westphalia South Chamber of Commerce] [for the government district of Arnsberg]. Description of the existing army: It was gradually enlarged by the allocation of further departments and official groups, further expanded in terms of organisation and personnel at the outbreak of war, and finally placed under the command of the Chief of Armament and Commander of the Reserve Army. The Army Office (AHA) worked on supplementing and arming the army in personnel, material and financial terms. The supplementary personnel department managed it according to the instructions of the OKW for the entire Wehrmacht. During the war it distributed the personnel replacement of the army among the replacement units and provided the replacement for the field army. In addition, the AHA had to work on the training regulations for the individual weapons categories and for the reserve army. Processing staffs (110 vol.): Documents on the processing of affairs of shattered command authorities (including the 6th Army in Stalingrad, the Central, Northern and Southern Ukraine Army Groups and the Commander-in-Chief West) as well as battle and experience reports of subordinate units, also experience reports of returnees, surveys of prisoners of war and missing persons, subsequent promotions and awards (with individual cases). The Wehrkreiskommando VII (RH 53-7) is also to be regarded as a replacement delivery. The documents of the AHA also document the activities of the two last chief of staff, Lieutenant Colonel i. G. Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg and Colonel i. G. Albrecht Ritter Mertz von Quirnheim, who were significantly involved in the assassination attempt on Hitler on July 20, 1944, and who were shot dead after the failure of the attack in the AHA's office in the Bendlerblock in Berlin. Find aids: Findbuch 2016 (online searchable) Registraturbilddner: As successor to the Neue Aktienzuckerraffinerie Halle, which had existed since 1859 and went bankrupt in 1880, Zuckerraffinerie AG Halle was founded in 1881 with headquarters in Raffineriestraße there. The main purpose of the company was the processing of raw sugar into consumable sugar. Bread, cube, utility, granulated and icing sugar as well as molasses were produced. In 1885, the AG took over the Hallesche Zuckersiederei Compagnie auf Aktien, which had existed since 1835 (Am Hospitalplatz, Halle-Glaucha), the operation of which was abandoned in 1906. In 1922 the refinery joined the Vereinigung Mitteldeutscher Rohzuckerfabriken Halle (VEMIRO), whose representatives (raw sugar factories) held the majority of the shares in the company. As a result, raw sugar was processed only on the basis of factory wage contracts. Sugar sales were organized by Zuckervertriebsgesellschaft AG Halle. In the 1940s, prisoners of war, forced labourers and foreign workers were also used to ensure refinery production. In World War II, the sugar refinery AG was heavily destroyed, expropriated in 1946 and placed under the control of the industrial works of Saxony-Anhalt. As of 1 July 1948, the company was transferred into public ownership as VVB Zuckerindustrie - VEB Zuckerraffinerie Halle. In 1951 it became the VEB "Vorwärts" Zuckerraffinerie Halle. Inventory information: From the administrative archive of the VEB Zuckerkombinat Halle, about 6 linear metres of documents from the Zuckerraffinerie AG Halle were handed over to the Staatsarchiv Magdeburg in 1981, where the files were redrawn on index cards in 1984. The collection was transferred to the newly founded Landesarchiv Merseburg (later Landesarchiv Sachsen-Anhalt, Merseburg Department) in 1994. In 2013, the search index was retroconverted in the scopeArchiv distorting program. In 2016 the complete revision of the written material was carried out.
