Inventory description: In the Heeresverordnungsblatt of 1926 (No. 23, page 11) the command powers for the medical inspector are recorded as follows: The medical inspector belonged to the Reichswehr Ministry (army command). He examined the uniformity of the training of medical personnel, headed the medical service, regulated its uniform execution on the basis of the regulations issued by the Army Command and was the supreme expert of the Army Command in all questions of health. In accordance with the instructions of the army command and in agreement with the commanders in the military districts, he was convinced of the status of the training of the medical personnel, of the performance of the medical service and of the condition of the health facilities in the military districts, also by taking part in inspections and exercises. Characterisation of the contents: The Military Medical Inspectorate (SanIn) has handed down documents on the administration of the service and the organisation of the medical service as well as extensive material on staff training and medical issues in various fields and the results of investigations by the Military Medical Academy. The holdings also include the fragments of documents that the Chief of the Wehrmacht Medical Service (ChefWSan) brought into the Federal Archives, as his business had been conducted by the Chief Medical Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Prof. Dr. Handloser, from the establishment of the office on 28 July 1942 until 1 September 1944. History of the inventor: 1933 as Amt für Technik, later Hauptamt, from the engineer-technical department created in 1931 at the Reichsleitung of the NSDAP, while the Kampfbund Deutscher Architekten und Ingenieure (KDAI), also founded in 1931, was continued after its dissolution in May 1933 by the newly established NS Bund Deutscher Technik (NSBDT); advised the departments, in particular the Reichsleitung, on technical questions, including also with bills from the technical area, and ensured with the responsible authorities for the penetration of the opinion of the party in all technical interests; director of the main office for technology (Fritz Todt, successor: Albert Speer) was head of the Amt für technische Wissenschaft in the DAF and Reichswalter of the NSBDT; the task of the NSBDT, which was affiliated to the NSDAP and supervised by the Hauptamt für Technik, was to promote technical-scientific work, the education of its members in the National Socialist sense and the promotion of the highest level of professional achievement. were transferred from the American Berlin Document Center to the Federal Archives in 1959. In 1991, the stock received its first notable increase through 22 files from the former NS mixed stock. The files of the provenance NS-Bund Deutscher Technik, Gauwaltung Oberdonau, Linz, which had been separated during the first processing in 1959, were handed over to the Austrian Provincial Archive Linz in 1991. In the course of processing the documents of the Berlin Document Center (BDC), which was transferred to the administration of the Federal Archives in 1994, the 134 file collection NSBDT ("Ingenieure") with personal documents in membership matters was added to the holdings in 2008. Archivische Bewertung und Bearbeitung The documents taken over in 1959 were sorted and evaluated by Mrs. Archivinspektorin Kinder and recorded in a provisional NS 14 index. The main items collected were duplicates, mailing lists and forms. In 2008, the provisional NS 14 inventory was included in the Basys-S inventory database, the inventory information including the classification being largely adopted without corrections. The 134 binders from the BDC Collection NSBDT ("Ingenieure"), which originate from the tradition of the BDC Collection NSBDT ("Ingenieure"), were formed into smaller units of description and assigned to the classification point Membership Matters as an alphabetical series (NS 14/ 129-396). Characterisation of content: In addition to general documents on organisation and administration, files on training and professional issues as well as on speakers and lectures have been handed down. However, the main part of the collection consists of files on membership matters in general in the individual professional associations of the NSBDT as well as on individual persons.
