Postcard and photo album of the frigate captain of the Imperial Navy Josef Poock (1859-1944), who came from Sigmaringen and extensively documented his seafaring trips around 1900 in the then German colonies of Tsingtau and Somoa Islands. Images such as captions reveal the unmistakable "colonial" gaze of the captain and collector.
