          • Audio* description: The numbering of the reels is not uniform, the number of reels was determined by the input numbers. A total of 34 rolls have been recorded on 23 rolls, a handwritten record is available, then some rolls were recorded by Prof. Carl Meinhof. Detailed annotations and texts with translations are available. According to Marius Schneider, Diedrich Westermann was involved in the translations (cf. Marius Schneider 1943/44:1). Some transcriptions in Schneider 1943/44. Schneider's statements (1943/44) on this collection are obviously incorrect.

          • Audio* description: Inscription: Wirz New Guinea, therefore partly confused with New Guinea I (1927). At EB Schneider: Wirz Südsee Brit. South N.G. and Holl. Süd N.G. The collection consists of two parts, 19 W. from the British North New Guinea, 17 W. from the Dutch South New Guinea. The original numbering begins in the south and follows as No. 18 - 36 the second part. In PHA, the numbering was reversed: W. 1 starts at the original No. 18 and ends at 34 at the original No. 15. The original rollers 16 and 17 were obviously not invenatrised. Short remarks are available.
