In 1994 the library received 546 volumes from the estate of Dr. Jürgen Herzog (deceased 1993), who worked as an African historian at the Institute for General History of the Academy of Sciences of the GDR (AdW). He worked at the Leibniz Centre for Modern Oriental Studies from 1992-1993. The signatures of the Duke's estate begin with the letter H (e.g. H 280).
