The press articles on the world economy were sorted by geographical regions and countries, within countries by subject areas, which in turn were subdivided several times, and within sub-areas by chronology. The thematic focus was on the economy and economic sectors, but also on secondary areas such as politics, science and culture in order to be able to document countries comprehensively. The collection was mainly used for research and teaching at the IfW, which is reflected in some focal points of the collection. The material has been completely filmed until 1945, further roll film digitizations are sufficient until 1989. For copyright reasons, the material can only be viewed in the ZBW Reading Room.
