The courts of the lowest level, named differently in historical sequence, responsible for criminal and civil proceedings of minor importance at first instance and for administrative acts in the area of preventive administration of justice. 1815/1816 Establishment of regional and municipal courts and some patrimonial courts and 1838 renaming of the judicial offices operating in the former Duchy of Westphalia. 1848-1879 Transfer of jurisdiction to district courts and district court deputations and commissions. 1879 Establishment of the district courts still in operation today; from 1933-1945/47 with inheritance courts and hereditary health courts.
