      Das abgebildete Reiterdenkmal (auch Südwestreiter), nach einem Entwurf des Berliner Bildhauers Adolf Kürle, wurde am 27. Januar 1912 vor der Alten Feste in Windhuk eingeweiht. Es zeigt einen überlebensgroßen Schutztruppenreiter in Uniform. Es sollte an die Kolonilakriege des deutschen Kaiserreichs gegen Herero und Nama von 1903 bis 1907 in Deutsch-Südwestafrika erinnern.
