      Das Foto zeigt den Raum im Kaiserlich deutschen Postamt in Tsingtau, in dem Fernsprechapparate und Ersatzteile bevorratet und gegebenenfalls auch repariert wurden. Drei einheimische Werkstattmitarbeiter schrauben an Wandapparaten M 04; im Regal im Bildhintergrund sind außerdem Tischapparate OB 05 zu erkennen. Die Hafenstadt Qingdao, zu deutsch auch Tsingtau oder Tsingtao in der Provinz Shandong (deutsch: Schantung) gehörte von 1898 bis 1914 als Kolonie zum Deutschen Reich. Das Foto wurde 1914 von der Deutschen Postdirektion in Schanghai für die Sammlungen des Reichspostmuseums angekauft
