Estate of Werner GrumpeltIn Altenburg, the colonial goods store C was founded in 1838. (Carl) J. (Julius) Grumpelt founded. It was located at Pauritzer Platz 4. In 1900 Karl Heinrich Grumpelt (1870-1935) took over the business and continued it until 1929. His son Werner Grumpelt (1909-1949, teacher and author), who also lived in Altenburg, was very interested in many things - including (global) history.
